Joy Totten - Seedlings & Sprouts Teacher
Joy is a a former coop mom with 8 years of coop experience. She also was a preschool instructional assistant for 3 years. Joy was in an am/pm program with 3's, 4's and 5's. Her third year she was in an all day program with 2 year olds.
Joy believes in the coop philosophy of play and that the teachers and parents together for the good of the child.
She has a B.S. degree and a life long mom degree. Joy has been married for 20 years. She has 4 childen 19,18,15 and 11. Three of which have benefited from coop for 8 years total.
Lynn Jones - Twigs Teacher
Hi Geist Orchard Co-op!! My name is Lynn Jones and I am going to be the Twigs teacher for the upcoming school year. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have a son, Evan (10) and a daughter, Ellie (7) who are both graduates of Fishers Pointe Co-operative Preschool. I was a member of the preschool for 5 years and in that time, I had various jobs; among them were V.P. of Parent Education, Secretary and President.
In addition to being a co-op teacher, I also am a volunteer reading tutor at the kid’s elementary school. For the past five years, I’ve worked with 1st graders who are struggling with reading and writing and need that extra attention to help them succeed. Before I had kids, I was a Speech/Language Pathologist working in long term care, then in First Steps. First Steps is a program that targets children from birth to three years old who are developmentally delayed. As a First Steps therapist, I was able to work with children who had severe developmental disabilities and children with autism and speech/language delays caused by hearing loss and chronic ear infections.
I have a Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology and Bachelor’s degrees in Communicative Disorders and Psychology and a minor in music.
